Morocco set to host UPDEA general assembly
The Union of Producers, Transporters and Distributors of Electric Power in Africa (UPDEA) will hold its general assembly in Morocco in October.
A preparatory meeting was held on Tuesday in the Moroccan commercial capital of Casablanca.
Founded in 1970, UPDEA is a not-for-profit nongovernmental association bringing together companies, firms, businesses and professional groupings with interests in the electric energy industry.
With a membership of 35 countries, the association's mission is to work for the development and promotion of electric energy in Africa in terms of production, transport and distribution.
The last UPDEA general assembly was held on Nov. 23, 2006 in Cairo, capital of Egypt.
